Note: The Regional Renaissance Partnership was a loosely knit group until August 21, 1997. At that time, The Community Alliance for Economic Development and Jobs was formed. This is important, as no monies were ever reported spent, prior to August 21, 1997.

During the May Primary and early June, the Regional Renaissance Partnership circulated blue folders with pictures of the then, "Ten County Region". These folders contained with information on the initiative including how to contact your legislator and asking them to vote in favor of the ballot initiative. Also, full page advertisements were run in the local newspapers to promote awareness on the issue. Where did the money come from is at issue?

The In-Kind Contributions are also questionable, as the report only shows three items. On September 28, 1997, the Pittsburgh Steelers used the "JumboTron" during the football game to promote the Regional Renaissance Initiative. That advertising had value, and does not show up in these reports.

You should also realize that this referendum has not been voted on at the time of this link was created. If the above balance sheet is any indication of things to come, we're all in trouble. Yes, the Renaissance spent more money than it raised. That's something only government bureaucracies can do.

In the report above, pay close attention to unpaid debts and obligations as it contains three $200,000.00 loans from some of the biggest contributors. This certainly appears to be a very high-$takes ballot.
